Discover Saii Lagoon Hilton Maldives – Your Ideal Island Escape for Mid-Budget Luxury
With a quick Google search, anyone can find out that staying on local islands is a budget hack for visiting the Maldives. But if you’re traveling from America, did you know you can stay at a hotel chain for almost the same price you’d pay in the States?! And this comes with views and luxury amenities you can’t even begin to imagine compared to your average in-state vacation.
Saii Lagoon Hilton Maldives is the perfect choice for travelers seeking a mid-budget Maldives resort that combines affordable luxury with a stunning island setting. I chose this resort because it offers all the beauty of the Maldives without the hefty price tag. Whether you’re after an overwater villa experience or a beachside escape, Saii Lagoon Hilton provides the ideal balance of comfort and style, making it a top pick for those wanting a luxury Maldives stay without denting your savings.
If you’re visiting family in India—like I usually am—it’s just a quick plane ride away. I spent less than a thousand dollars for a week’s stay at this hotel and it was beyond worth it! Here’s how it went and all the info so you can decide if it’s worth it for your family!
Highlights of SAII Lagoon: Close to Male so speedboat transfer available, great resort for kids and families and top notch service!
Booking, Arrival and Check In Process
As Hilton Gold members, we always get upgraded within the same category, so I ended up paying around $270 for a room where I could walk right out onto the beach. If your travel dates are flexible, I definitely recommend checking out Hilton’s Shop By Price feature—it shows you a calendar of the cheapest dates, so you can score the best deal!
Getting to SAii Lagoon Maldives
Maldives is incredibly easy, which was a huge plus for me. The resort is just a 15-minute speedboat ride from Malé International Airport, making it one of the most accessible Maldives island resorts. You save a lot of money by taking a speedboat instead of a seaplane to the resort island. The short ride gives you an instant taste of the signature turquoise waters, and that’s when it hits me and I feel like a kid in a sandbox again.😛 Speedboat costs fluctuate but it’s usually around $130 per person for a round trip.
Arrival and Check in at SAii Lagoon Maldives
When we arrived at Saii Lagoon Hilton from the super smooth speedboat transfer, we were greeted with welcome drinks and then taken by golf cart to the main hotel for check-in. The neighboring hotel, Hard Rock Maldives, shares a common area called the Marina, which we could explore, but the Hilton side stays exclusive to its guests. After checking in, the golf cart dropped us off at our room, and we got a quick tour of the space. They also set up the Hilton app for us at check-in, which made everything super easy. You can use the app to get around the island, book dinner or spa reservations, or message your concierge for anything you need. If you want a golf cart pickup, just send a message, and they’ll be there in 5-10 minutes!
I love how you get welcome drinks even at the mid-budget hotels in Maldives! Definitely still gives luxury ✨

Dining at Saii Lagoon Hilton
When it comes to Saii Lagoon Hilton dining options, there’s no shortage of delicious spots to satisfy your cravings. One of my favorite places to grab a bite was Miss Olive Oyl, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant with a laid-back vibe. Here, I enjoyed fresh seafood, including grilled prawns and seabass, paired with light and flavorful salads. The local Maldivian influence really comes through in the way they incorporate fresh, locally sourced ingredients, adding a tropical twist to Mediterranean classics. For a more relaxed setting, Mr. Tomyam offers a fusion of Thai and Italian dishes. I absolutely loved their green curry with a hint of Maldivian spice—it gave a unique flavor I didn’t expect but totally loved!
Another light bites highlight at Saii Lagoon Maldives is Gelato Bar, a casual spot perfect for an afternoon snack. They serve everything from freshly brewed coffee, gelato, pastries and teas making it a great go-to throughout the day.
The Pool Bar at Saii Lagoon Hilton Maldives is the perfect spot to unwind after a day of sun and sea. With its chill vibe and infinity pool overlooking stunning ocean views, it’s ideal for grabbing a refreshing drink or light snack while lounging. I loved sipping on tropical cocktails and trying out their small bites like fresh salads and sandwiches. It’s also a great place to catch the sunset while enjoying a relaxed atmosphere and delicious refreshments.
Every meal at Saii Lagoon filled me up wiith their solid portion sizes! You’re definitely spoiled for choice here and I’ll miss that being the hardest decisions I had to make.
Facilities & Activities
For a change of pace, a short walk over to The Marina offers a vibrant hub of dining, shopping, and entertainment. As part of the CROSSROADS Maldives complex, this bustling area is a great place to explore during your stay. You can grab a bite to eat, shop for unique souvenirs at the boutique stores, or even check out live music at the nearby Hard Rock Hotel. The Marina really adds a lively atmosphere to the resort, giving you more options beyond just lounging by the beach.
The dolphin sunset cruise is an absolute must! Watching playful dolphins swim alongside you is a magical experience. It’s an easy activity for families to do together. Dolphin sightings aren’t guaranteed- but the Dhoni crew does their best to find them! Either way, the cruise is totally worth it just for the stunning sunset views from the middle of the sea.
Gym
Saii Lagoon Hilton Maldives has an array of top-notch facilities and activities that make your stay both exciting and relaxing. One of the standout features is their state-of-the-art gym, which is perfect for those who want to stay active while on vacation. The gym is fully equipped with cardio machines, free weights, and resistance equipment, ensuring you can maintain your workout routine even in paradise. Whether you’re squeezing in a quick session or joining one of their fitness classes, the gym has everything you need for a great workout.
Len Be Well Spa
For the ultimate relaxation, the Lèn Be Well Spa is a must-visit. This luxurious spa offers a wide range of treatments, from traditional Maldivian massages to rejuvenating facials and body scrubs. I highly recommend trying their signature massage, which combines local healing techniques with modern therapies for a truly revitalizing experience. The spa’s serene ambiance makes it the perfect spot to unwind after a day of sun and sea, leaving you feeling refreshed and recharged. I was able to get my gel nails done for $30- I found that so reasonably priced for a resort!
I highly recommend visiting SAii Lagoon, Hilton Maldives for families, couples, and first time visitors looking for a more social setting!
